6 WARNING SIGNS THAT YOU’RE DATING A WOMANIZER

By Inspire Dot

“I absolutely love dating womanizers,” said nobody ever. And yet, even the most astute women find themselves dating such guys all the time. It’s easy to be charmed by men who come across as sweet and charismatic. Womanizers can make women feel special, and as a result, their “prey” let down their guard and allowed themselves to trust them. But at some point the guy reveals his true colors, whether by ghosting the women who have fallen for him or when he struggles to explain all of the text messages he’s receiving from other girls.

How can you tell if you might be dating a womanizer? Here are six red flags.

1. He never takes you to normal dating places

A typical date involves going out to dinner at a popular restaurant or strolling through the park while holding hands. But if the guy always insists on meeting in secluded locations or even in other cities altogether, there’s a good chance he’s trying to hide you from a spouse, girlfriend, or even the multiple girls he’s seeing. The best way to test out this theory is by suggesting a place in town such as a lively bar or a brunch spot where you’re likely to come across people you know. If he responds with evasiveness or offers lame excuses for why the two of you can’t go there, walk away. If he is truly interested in you, he wouldn’t hesitate to show you off.

2. He goes through repeated cycles of giving you attention followed by radio silence

In a budding relationship, you should at least expect a routine “Checking in on you” message or a brief call during his lunch break. But if he goes through periods where he’s texting you a lot and then disappears for days on end, that’s a reason for concern. This unpredictable pattern is enough to make you wonder what he wants. For a relationship to work, the communication has to be consistent. If he only contacts you when he wants something and disappears when you want to get serious, it’s fair to wonder how much you matter and if he does the same to other women. Trust your instincts and move on.

3. His social media posts never include you

Not everybody is active on social media, so if the guy you’re seeing has a quiet account or none at all, that isn’t automatically cause for concern. On the other hand, if he’s active enough to share things about his life regularly but never acknowledges that you’re a part of it even after you’ve been dating for a while, it gives the impression that he is hiding something. Even more alarming is if he acts weirdly defensive when you try to post photos of the two of you together. A guy who is in a committed relationship should have zero issue with a few public signs that it exists.

4. He doesn’t introduce you to his circle, nor is he interested in meeting your friends

It’s completely normal to wait for the relationship to become serious before involving other people in your lives. After all, if you introduce your friends to every guy you hardly know and the relationship doesn’t work out, things get awkward. But if you reach the stage in the relationship where you want him to meet your friends (or you would like to meet his) and he balks at the idea, it’s reasonable to wonder if you’re just another girl on the side. On a related note, if he does relent and allow you to meet his friends, but they take little notice of you, it could be a sign that they perceive his relationships like a revolving door, and they see no reason to invest themselves in you.

5. He rushes the relationship

If you’ve only been dating a guy for a couple of weeks and he’s already professing his love for you, there’s a very good chance he’s telling you what he thinks you want to hear, rather than how he actually feels. These grand romantic gestures are meant to lower your defences and gain your trust so that he can hook up with you as quickly as possible. But the truth is, genuine love comes from fostering deep emotional connections, and this is something that takes time to develop. So if his proclamations feel rushed or forced, there’s a good chance he just wants to add to his body count.

6. He tries to guilt-trip you

Trying to guilt you into sleeping with him is less subtle than rushing a relationship. If he’s saying things like “It’s been a long time since I’ve fallen this hard” or “If you really liked me, you’d let me take you home tonight,” it’s nothing more than trying to manipulate you into questioning your own boundaries. A guy who is genuinely looking to make a relationship work would make your comfort the main priority.
